The façade cladding of the SNCB/NMBS office in Aalst is designed to achieve a low ecological footprint and a long lifespan. Scandinavian deal is high-quality wood with a light colour and thin grain. Deal is naturally susceptible to blue stain, wood rot and insect damage, but the ThermoWood^® treatment eliminates these problems completely. The result is a durable, easy-to-machine wood product with small knots.
